John is an award-winning journalist and author of mystery novels, short stories, screenplays and fact-based television. He is probably best known for his Benjamin Justice mystery novels, in which the main character is an out gay disgraced journalist who solves crimes in Los Angeles and West Hollywood, Calif. The entertaining series brought John three Lambda Literary Awards and the prestigious Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America. John is also active in organizations dedicated to helping those with HIV/AIDS. |
